Las colaboradoras activas de este proyecto incluyen a Mayté Miranda, María Torres, Enero y Abril, Minoru Kiyota, Farrah Karapetian y Mauricio Villa; y se ha nutrido de colaboraciones previas con Leslie García y Rosela del Bosque.&#38;nbsp;The Colorado River Family Archive is a collaborative project that explores the relationships between people, ecosystems, settlements, and water in the Colorado River Delta region. El Archivo Familiar del Río Colorado es un proyecto colaborativo que explora las relaciones entre personas, ecosistemas, asentamientos y agua en la región Delta del Río Colorado. 
Comenzó con una convocatoria abierta y ahora es una plataforma para proyectos de investigación artística y trabajo curatorial, en la intersección de la crisis ecológica planetaria, la construcción de comunidades de aprendizaje y el arte contemporáneo. 
El proyecto busca producir, recopilar y editar registros documentales, haciendo énfasis en el archivo familiar y en investigar cómo se construye la memoria a través de las relaciones que se establecen con el agua. &#38;nbsp;

El proyecto fue iniciado y es coordinado por Jessica Sevilla en colaboración con el equipo curatorial de Planta Libre del año 2021, conformado por Mayté Miranda, Rosela del Bosque y Minoru Kiyota.&#38;nbsp; 
Sus capítulos se desarrollan con distintos grupos de trabajo, personas, colectivos e instituciones, que han incluido a: Hoshi Ramírez, María Torres, Enero y Abril, Leslie García, el Instituto de Investigaciones Culturales-Museo UABC, Community-Driven Archives Initiative ASU Library, STS Borderlands Laboratory, Casa de Artes y Oficios La Joyita, Planta Libre, INSITE, entre otrxs.&#38;nbsp;

The Colorado River Family Archive is a collaborative project that explores the relationships between people, ecosystems, settlements, and water in the Colorado River Delta region.
It began with an open call and has since grown into a platform for artistic research and curatorial work at the intersection of the planetary ecological crisis, the building of learning communities, and contemporary art.

The project seeks to produce, collect, and edit documentary records, with an emphasis on the family archive and on investigating how memory is built through relationships with water.

The project was initiated and is coordinated by Jessica Sevilla in collaboration with the curatorial team of Planta Libre of 2021, formed by Mayté Miranda, Rosela del Bosque, and Minoru Kiyota.

		<description>Para el MUMA MUSEO DE MUJERES ARTISTAS MEXICANAS, como parte de la exposición Suspender el Control, hicimos una breve lectura del archivo para narrar una historia de flujos y rupturas en la región delta del río Colorado. 
Seleccionamos una serie de documentos y los pusimos en diálogo con el performance A wide ribbon of water through the shifting sands of harsh land de Pastizal Zamudio —realizado en 2023 durante el programa Invocaciones al Agua entre los Cerros.
Agradecemos a Ingrid Hernández, curadora de la muestra, por la invitación a participar y acompañarnos a desarrollar esta salida del archivo. Y también al PAC, que nos está apoyando para trabajar este periodo, y nos apoyó para que fuera posible el programa de Invocaciones.&#38;nbsp;For the MUMA – Museum of Mexican Women Artists, as part of the exhibition Suspender el control (Suspending Control), we made a brief reading of the archive to narrate a story of flows and ruptures in the Colorado River Delta region.
We selected a series of documents and placed them in dialogue with the performance A wide ribbon of water through the shifting sands of harsh land by Pastizal Zamudio —performed in 2023 during the program Invocations to Water Between the Hills.
We thank Ingrid Hernández, curator of the exhibition, for inviting us to participate and for accompanying us in developing this unfolding of the archive. We also thank PAC, which is supporting our work during this period and made the Invocations program possible.

Comenzamos por lanzar una convocatoria en colaboración con Planta Libre, gracias a un recurso dotado por FONCA para reactivación de espacios escénicos, buscando recibir memorias y recuerdos sobre paisajes y cuerpos de agua que ya no existen, así como especulaciones sobre sus futuros, pasados o presentes alternos. 
Las categorías de esta convocatoria permanente son: fotografía,&#38;nbsp; anécdotas y ficciones sobre los cuerpos de agua del Río Colorado.&#38;nbsp;Hemos recibido mapas ficticios, imágenes de periódicos, archivos familiares acompañados de anécdotas, entre otros materiales. 
La convocatoria contínua abierta, sigue la búsqueda por archivos familiares, historias orales, dibujos y textos de diversa índole.

	En el auge de la lluvia estelar de la constelación Hidra, que es una serpiente de agua, Planta Libre y el Archivo Familiar del Río Colorado invitaron a la ceremonia de cantos, bailes y palabras para Nuestra Señora del Río Oculto, o nuestra wad al luben. Se convocó una reunión y visita al río enbovedado, un río al que no le es posible transpirar ni desfondar: el Río Nuevo.
 Aquel 11 de diciembre de 2021, celebramos la hierofanía de la constelación de Hidra hablar acerca del agua, danzarla y denunciar su condición. 
Se presentó una serie de actos performáticos; lectura de poesía, danzas contemporáneas y tradicionales, la integración sincrética de historias y relatos relacionados a los cuerpos de agua. 
Se reunió para el evento: la presentación de Nuestra Señora del Río Oculto, con nuevos íconos y símbolos ilustrados por el pintor Eustolio Pardo, una coreografía de danza contemporánea ejecutada por SinLuna Danza Punk, danzas y cantos de los jóvenes de la comunidad Cucapá del Mayor guiados por el maestro Alonso Pesado, la participación de los grupos de matachines de la colonia Santa Clara y Pueblo Nuevo, la lectura e instalación de la poesía de Antonio León que surge de sus derivas a lo largo del río Nuevo.   
	 Carlos Rodríguez Delgadillo compartió una oración y una petición, en forma de poema, para reconocer al río como un ente vivo. También participó el coro Voces de Calafia con canciones al agua y&#38;nbsp; Guadalupe-Tonantzin.
Entendemos al agua como un elemento transhistórico; existe antes y después de nosotrxs, lxs humanxs, pero también es una huella distinta en cada contexto y cada comunidad.&#38;nbsp;
Los dragones y las serpientes de agua manifiestan, en múltiples momentos históricos, una determinada modalidad de lo sagrado. La escuela de artes marciales Wushu Sámano participó con danzas sobre este símbolo.Y, finalmente, se concluyó la celebración con una bendición no planeada que nos otorgó la matriarca Cucapá Raquel Portillo.

	Invocaciones al Agua entre los Cerros fue un proyecto de arte dedicado a la investigación de cañones, escurrimientos y la Laguna Salada— una cuenca seca localizada entre las sierras Juárez, Cucapá, el Mayor y las Pintas. Esta depresión arenosa, antes llamada Laguna Macuata (probablemente una apropiación del cucapá Ja Wi Mak o agua detrás del cerro), se llenaba intermitentemente con las inundaciones del Río Colorado y mareas del Golfo de California, hasta unas décadas después de las grandes presas. 

Con el cambio del paisaje se van olvidando las capas y redes de interacción entre materia, energía y seres que existieron ahí. Invocando apela a la memoria de sus ciclos y fenómenos, al presente de sus organismos y flujos imperceptibles, al conflicto de su futuro.&#38;nbsp;Las Invocaciones fueron una serie de gestos que buscaron al agua con distintos lenguajes. Por ejemplo, buscábamos al espectro de la gran ola de primavera y su estruendo, a la luz reflejada; a la memoria en fuga de sus cualidades y a las relaciones futuras.


	  La propuesta germinó a partir de ciertos hallazgos documentales, lecturas cartográficas y archivos históricos —como el registro del ‘burro’, la gran ola cuyo estruendo se escuchaba a kilómetros, toponimias y senderos antiguos— realizados por Jessica para ser compartidos con el equipo. A partir de ahí, el programa se gestionó junto con Mayté Miranda, Rosela del Bosque y Enero y Abril, quien guió una serie de diálogos, talleres y caminatas en grupos más amplios, donde se fueron tejiendo los distintos gestos de invocación. 
Este proceso ayudó a trazar rutas y a identificar cuerpos de agua, cañones, montañas e historias del lugar, definiendo los tres momentos de las caminatas: Pozo Coyote al sureste de la Salada (mayo 2022), la Sierra Cucapá (enero 2023) y el Cañón de Guadalupe (abril 2023).

De estas tres caminatas surgieron también las pautas para
una mirada posterior hacia los cuerpos de agua geológica en la región: desde
las aguas sulfurosas en el Cañón de Guadalupe, la posterior caminata a la
fumarola La Constante—cuyo rastro surgió de una conversación entre Mauricio Villa y el conductor
Meño—, hasta la observación de los distintos usos del suelo en las zonas más
ricas del acuífero de la subcuenca.

Esta exposición reúne a una parte de la red de personas que constituyen y piensan con el proyecto, así como a una diversidad de materiales documentales que se han recopilado en los últimos cuatro años: desde imágenes de familias en los canales del Valle de Mexicali, fotografías históricas del Río Nuevo, nuestros registros en el sistema lagunar, mapas del siglo pasado, así como crónicas de exploradores y colonizadores en el Delta.&#38;nbsp;La huella del (agua) tiempo en forma de grieta presenta una investigación colectiva y las reflexiones de quince participantes que utilizan el campo artístico como medio para explorar sus experiencias del territorio y el paisaje. Se trabaja desde la ficción, la experimentación y la experiencia afectiva. 

	
Desde mayo de 2022 hasta el 2024 Enero y Abril guió y acompañó los procesos artísticos que surgieron de una serie de caminatas realizadas en la confluencia del río y la Laguna Salada, y en algunos cañones de la Sierra Cucapá y la Sierra Juárez, que rodean a la cuenca seca de la laguna; instando a interpretar fisuras y grietas, tanto en la experiencia corporal como en el paisaje.Texto curatorial y título: Jessica SevillaPropuesta conceptual de la muestra y coordinación de actividades: Jessica Sevilla y Rosela del BosqueMontaje: Minoru Kiyota, Enero y Abril, Rosela del Bosque y Jessica Sevilla

	El viernes 5 de abril y 6 de abril 2024, en colaboración con el Instituto de Investigaciones Culturales UABC, María Torres del STS Borderlands Research Lab y el Community Driven Archive de ASU, organizamos el Encuentro de Memoria y Archivos Comunitarios.
Se invitó a dieciséis archivos, proyectos e instituciones dedicadas al resguardo de archivos en Mexicali y la región. Como parte del programa, El 5 de abril en el IIC-Museo UABC se realizó un evento de presentación los proyectos invitadxs y posteriormente un taller para realizar una publicación colectiva con materiales, textos y dibujos de cada invitadx.

El sábado 6 de abril, invitamos a nuestras amigas de Community-Driven Archives Initiatives de ASU a platicar sobre sus experiencias apoyando archivos comunitarios.&#38;nbsp;

	Además, se realizó una jornada de escaneo de archivos personales/familiares y memoria oral sobre Mexicali; sus lugares, sobre la migración de abuelos, historias sobre la comunidad, de la familia y sus territorios.&#38;nbsp;

		<description>MEMORIAS DEL AGUA


El 20 de marzo de 2022, Rodo Ibarra, Leslie García y Ana Paula Santana ensamblaron en vivo una pieza de audio con material del Archivo Familiar del Río Colorado; registros propios, de Carlos Maldonado, Pita Tirado y Joe Rodríguez en la zona de restauración Laguna Grande, la bóveda del Río Nuevo y en la ceremonia de Nuestra Señora del Río Oculto. Le acompañaron visuales con material recopilado en distintos cuerpos de agua, a lo largo de los últimos años.

En abril de 2024, Montez Press Radio en colaboración con Materia Abierta, organizó ocho segmentos sobre la dimensión política y poética del agua. Se invitó a Leslie García a reactivar los paisajes sonoros del Archivo Familiar del Río Colorado en la sala de Materia Abierta en el Museo Tamayo.
